The tour will start picking you up from Messina port. We take the highway Messina / Catania, we leave the sea level and start to climb towards the summit of the Mount Etna the highest volcano in Europe. Before we reach our destination we cross the Etna National Park (Unesco Patrimony since 2013) and some Sicilian villages such as Santa Venerina and Zafferana with a stop to taste the typical Sicilian products.
Then we get to the craters Silvestri (7000 ft.). The landscape of the big craters is amazing and from it you will can admire the large lava flows creates from past eruptions. On the road we enjoy the great vineyards of Etna and the farms overlooking the coast of Catania.
The tour continues to Taormina, an ancient Greek colony with its amazing pedestrian path, the Greek theatre, the monuments, the shops, the famous restaurants and pubs and much more. The last stop in Messina is the Cathedral with its unique and spectacular clock astrological / astronomical (the largest in the world). In Messina we will visit the city center, the amazing cathedral, the monuments and the famous view point Cristo Re, from where we can admire the Strait of Messina and the harbour.
Next stop is Savoca, an amazing village, one of the most beautiful Italian villages. Here we will visit the Cathedral, the medieval area and the famous Bar Vitelli, then we stop for the almond wine tasting.
If we have time, during our tour in Taormina, we will visit also the village of Castelmola. Castelmola is small and enchanting village just above Taormina, with an amazing landscape and a great view of Mount Etna and wonderful landscape of Giardini-Naxos bay.
