With this tour you will can explore the western part of Sicily! Our first stop will be the archaeological area of Segesta, a prestigious Greek colony; it was during the Greek age that Segesta became one of the most important cities in the western part of Sicily.
In Segesta the first Greek Doric temple is preserved. It consists of 36 columns, still intact despite earthquakes and bad weather suffered over the centuries. Important is also the theater, a typical example of Greek theater, that has semicircular in shape.
The excursion continues to Erice, medieval city located at 880 meters. above sea level. Erice is a beautiful town with the remains of the ancient Phoenician city walls and the Cathedral, built in 1300, in Catalan Gothic style with refined decorations, among which stands out the icon of the black Madonna, much revered in the area.
It is pleasant to walk the streets of the ancient village and taste, in one of the many typical shops, the famous sweets of almond paste.
